Introduction to Cyanotype - 1 date available, 10 - 1pm. £40.

Learn the fundamentals of Cyanotype or 'Sun Printing'. This fun workshop will introduce participants to one of the earliest printing processes. Using cyanotype chemicals and UV light (hopefully sunshine) you can capture plants and other objects onto paper and textiles. We will cover everything that is needed to show you the basics of this lovely process and is quite experimental so you will go home with a varied selection of lovely blue prints that would be perfect for framing. No experience necessary.

Introduction to Cyanotype
Step into the world of one of the oldest photographic printing processes in this hands-on beginner workshop. Learn how to create beautiful, blue-toned prints using light-sensitive chemistry and UV light, hopefully natural sunlight!

We’ll cover both wet and dry cyanotype techniques, guiding you through the process of preparing your materials, exposing your images, and developing your prints.

Whether you're printing with found objects, drawings, or botanical materials, you'll leave with a set of striking cyan-blue artworks and the skills to continue experimenting on your own.

Ready to go further? Once you've completed this workshop, you're welcome to join our follow-up session, A Deeper Dive into Cyanotype, a full day workshop where we explore the more advanced methods of toning and bleaching.
